I put this up as a free pattern on Ravelry a while back, but wanted to add it here to make sure you knew about it. Penelope is a great first shawl pattern as it is easily memorized so there's no need to keep looking at the pattern as you make the body of the shawl. It's a joy to make. It's shown here in Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable, but any yarn and hook size will work.

DeleteCarolyn,
DeleteThis a wonderful pattern,,, makes up easily, suits most any body type and is a generous enough design to truly wrap to keep warm. I made one of variegated yarn for a friend's mother from yarn she gave me from long ago,,, it will be a big surprise I am about to make an off white in something soft for another friend's mother who is undergoing treatment for cancer,, one made earlier was received with happiness,,, know this one will be as well. Thanks so much for sharing this jewel with us and know that your talent is making some folks feel special. SMILE Helen

ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of your Calypso Shawlette pattern! I just needed to tell he that in this space before I get on to this beauty! I had a roving yarn that was absolutely impossible to work with in crocheted stitches and all of the work on that shawl is in spaces! I was able to make a very large Lacey shawl that gets me more compliments than any other shawl I've ever made!
ReplyDeleteThis shawl is absolutely beautiful! I have some Lion Brand mandala yarn that needs a good pattern and I think this is it! You are so creative! Thank you for sharing so freely as you work so hard on these patterns.
